Why We’re Here
The idea for this prayer website came from a video called Transformations, produced by the Sentinel Group. In the video, cities are highlighted which have been remarkably transformed by the power of God. The common thread for these cities is simply that Christians united in prayer and asked God to work in their city. They had no cares about denominations, ethnicities, social classes, etc. Their sole focus was on the Lord, and He brought them together as one body and accomplished miraculous changes in their midst.
(Ephesians 3:20-4:6)
Inspired by these stories, and believing that God can do the same in our region, we set out to make this happen. We quickly found “God-moves” here and there; numerous small gatherings of pastors and other ministry leaders praying with each other, but realized that their scopes were very limited by geographic and time constraints. Many expressed a desire to know what other groups were out there praying, but were unsure of how to connect with them.
Realizing the need for a central place for prayer across our region, this website was developed. We trust that it will be a place where many will come and intercede on behalf of others who have placed requests on this site. We believe that it can be a way to build on what is already happening all over the region; to further unite and encourage those who are already battling for each other; and to build God’s Kingdom, not necessarily our own churches.
(1 Corinthians 1:10-11, Romans 15:5-6)
Let us all cry out to our Father in Heaven, “God, Move Here!”
What this Website Is and Is Not
-This IS set up to help increase awareness and communication between Christians who are praying for God to transform our region; this is NOT intended to replace what is already taking place all over the region.
-This IS simply a means to tie together the many pockets of prayer (God-moves) that are happening already; this is NOT a new prayer idea that we are trying to convince people they should do.
-This IS meant for regional transformation type of prayers; this is NOT meant for Sally to ask for prayer for her grandmother’s health**.
-This IS for groups—churches, schools, businesses, etc—to be represented and prayed for; this is NOT for individuals who are praying for their unsaved friends**.
-This IS a place to pray for one another; this is NOT a place to promote events or post needs for volunteers/resources.
-This IS just a tool to continue to allow God to work in our region; this is NOT by any means a beginning or an end of what He is doing.
**While we believe it’s important to pray for all requests, there are appropriate forums for different prayers. We simply want to keep the focus here on larger, regional transformation. For individual requests, please visit and use our ministry partner's site, PrayerConnexus.
What Else is There?
It’s great that we can come to a central, convenient place and pray for one another. But is that all there is to this thing? Certainly not! This movement is ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS. From growing relationships, everything else will spring forth. There are several ways that we envision the Body of Christ growing closer together:
- Thursday mornings we are all committing to wake up and intercede for each other. We ask that you pick one hour in that time frame to join us, and to know that others are up and praying for you as well. These mornings will build consistency and momentum for this movement across our region. (Philippians 1:3-6, 1 Thessalonians 5:24; James 5:16)
- For some, Thursdays are also a day of fasting. We believe that fasting is a way to humble ourselves in the sight of God and gives Him a greater opportunity to lift us up (Psalm 35:13; James 4:10). On a regional scale, I quote Bill Bright:
“…I am convinced that when God's people fast with a proper Biblical motive-seeking God's face, not His hand-with a broken, repentant, and contrite spirit, God will hear from heaven and heal our lives, our churches, our communities, our nation and world. Fasting and prayer can bring about revival - a change in the direction of our nation, the nations of earth and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
- Through this site we have the opportunity to email and let each other know that we are praying on their behalf. Anyone who has ever been told out of the blue that they are being prayed for, knows the impact this has on their life. We now have the chance to make that impact all over our region.
- We hold prayer gatherings, so that we may physically come together and pray as one body. It is always more encouraging to know the people praying for you, and to be able to embrace one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. Check out the resources page on this website to find out when and where the next prayer gathering will be.
- A long-term vision for the future is to hold a 24-hour worship and prayer celebration at a site like the Wachovia Center or Lincoln Financial Field. Can you imagine what an impact something like that would have on our region?!
